Where is mom?

"She was called to the palace...I imagine the Queen wants her for some foolish reason..."  He says with a bit of ice in his voice...

"Of course...Miss Kenzie..."  He says as he starts to portion out the noodles...

"What can that vile woman possibly want with Mom...?"  Rommie asks...not dropping the conversation...

"I am afraid I dont know Miss Rommie..."  He replies...handing the dish to Kenzie...

I am going after her...

"You are not...young lady..."

Hector shifts his eyes toward Kenzie...smiling inwardly..."Of course not...She is with her husband and their protection officers...Miss Rommie is being...overzealous..."

"I am not...that woman has always hated mom...and Daddy for that matter...I dont trust her..."

"And she is the Queen...you wear your rebellious tendencies on your shoulder...Miss Rommie..."

"And since when is that a bad thing in this family...?

"Well said..."

Rommie bristles...but keeps her retort to herself...

For dinner yes...I am on duty until 8,,,

There is also fresh bread on the counter if you want it...

Rommie sits down at the table...sulking...

Rommie eats beside her twin...

"So...Miss Kenzie...the current plan we are developing is for you to act as Miss Rommie's handmaiden...at least publicly...Behind closed doors...you would have the freedom to do whatever you wish...but when out with Miss Rommie...you would act as her servant and companion."

Kenzie's fork paused midway to her mouth, she took a bite and chewed slowly before answering as she mulled over what Hector. "Ok"

So…she is going to Academy with me???

Kenzie lowered her fork to the table "The Academy? Where all the royal and high born go to classes? THAT academy?"

"Yes...that academy..."  Hector answers Kenzie...then turns to Rommie..."And yes...she would be enrolled as your handmaiden...I believe your father is looking for an apartment that you two would share...he doesnt want you in Academy housing so you will retain the freedom to do as you wish..."

"wont other people notice that we look alot alike?"

"Not necessarily...individuals who are considered high value targets or have had death threats issued against them in the past often hire look a likes...So Miss Rommie...who is a titled Lady, daughter of a very powerful Duke...and has had death threats in the past...would hire someone who looks like her...Before you both leave for Academy...you will undergo specialized training in defense and security protocals...you...Miss Kenzie...will also have more advanced lessons to make your role more...acceptable...plus I also will be sending protection officers with you..."

Kenzie nodded and picked her fork back up quiet as she thought over all of that

You are not sending protection officers with us...

And why is that?

Because we dont need protection officers...we are big girls now...and besides...Academy officers dont like when students bring their own protection officers...I dont want to referee a turf war between them...remember what happened with Ryan...how long that lasted...

Kenzie watched the verbal sparring match as she finished her lunch

That will ultimately be up to your parents...

Kenzie carried her dishes to the sink and turned "when does the term start at the academy?"

Three months...beginning of fall...

Kenzie thinks this over and gives a slight nod "that should be enough time" she says as she starts to wash the dishes

Rommie finishes her meal...then helps to clear the table...starting to dry the clean dishes...

They wash dishes in silence for a few minuets "Don't worry. I have a plan" she says softly

She continues to wash the dishes...gently touching her twins hand...and Kenzie suddenly feels a rush...and a disorientation...before realizing she is standing next to her body...Hector is not paying the girls any attention...working on some financial records at the table..."He cant hear us...I projected us out of our bodies onto another plane of existence...what do you mean you have a plan?"

"This is disorienting" Kenzie says "I trained with my father for most of my life. It shouldn't take long to get back to where I was before I was taken. We can prove to your parents that extra security won't be needed"

Ok…just making sure that you weren’t going to do something stupid…like I would have…

Rommie smirks..."Its been known to happen..."  She said wiry...her physical body letting go of Kenzie's hand...with a rush...Kenzie feels her mind and body reconnect...Rommie continues to dry the dishes as if nothing happened...
