Kenzie opens the door "Yea" she stepped back, the room looked as it always did, spotless with no personal touches. 

Rommie puts the hot chocolate tray down on the table between two chairs...sitting in one of them..."So...twins...huh..."

"Yea... kind of crazy" she says as she sits in a chair across from Rommie

Rommie nods..."What's your powers?"

Kenzie is quiet for a few moments, she had been taught to hide her powers her whole life. Only her parents had known about them "what powers?" she asks

Rommie gives her a patient look...then raises her hand and allows a ball of fire to form between her fingers..."We're twins...If I have powers...then you do too...otherwise we couldn't have astraled into our memories as babies...

"sorry, it's not something I usually talk about" Kenzie replies softly, she reaches out and takes the flame from Rommie, she holds it in both her hands and plays with the size, making it bigger and smaller before she makes it disappear. She looks at the cups of hot coco and one lifts into the air and hovers before Rommie "umm that too"

Rommie takes the cup from the air...a slight smile on her face..."Very cool..."  She says...taking a sip...before putting it down..."Someone tried to have us killed as babies..."

"Yea, who do you think it was?" she asked as she took the other cup 

Judging by our emotional response as infants...our mother...

The question is why would she want us dead...

Kenzie shook he head "I dont know. Why would someone destroy an entire village?"

Rommie sighs..."Slavers want profits...they don't care about the collateral damage or how many lives they ruin with their greed...Daddy tries to get what few he can out of that life...but...he is in the minority of those who can make a difference...As long as the Queen permits slavery...its a losing battle..."

"I dont know...maybe our magic was a threat to her...or...I just dont know..."  Rommie says softly...

Kenzie sits back in the chair cradling her cup of hot chocolate "it's crazy"

They split us up to protect us...

Kenzie shook her head "Not they, I think it was our father. who decided to that"

And they kept up the charade...which tells me they believe the danger to us isn't in the past...so chances are...our mother is still alive...

I wonder who she is

That I don't know...whoever she is...they still believe she is a danger to us...She could be a government official under the Queen...a Warlord...a witch...who knows...

Kenzie finishes her coco "whoever she is, she can't find out about us"

I think that is what they are trying to prevent...which explains why they weren't so keen to let me follow in the family business...not that I gave them any choice...

Kingdom politics...My father serves as an advisor to the Queen...Not that she ever takes his advice...but...He wasnt that keen on me wanting to follow in his footsteps...

Kenzie shook her head "Not surprising. If it doesn't benefit her she doesn't want to hear about it. She doesn't give two sh.... she couldn't care less about her subjects."

She is a vile witch...Dad uses his position to gain Intel and slip it to the rebellion...

They are not making much headway either.  Not enough people are willing to help. They are too scared of what happens when she finds out.

Unfortunately you are right...Dad does what he can under her nose...but there is always a chance she could find out...which puts all of us in danger and into a position where we can't do what we do.  

She needs to be dethroned. Someone who actually cares about the people should be ruling, not her.

The next in line is her son...and I am not sure he is a better option...

Agreed…but right now…there is little we can do about them…

So...onto a topic we can control...what are you going to do...?

Kenzie is quiet for a few minuets before she shakes her head "I thought I had decided, but now I am not sure"

Is there anything I can do?

"Maybe, I am not sure. I want to get to know you, but at the same time someone didn't want us to be together so how much danger does that put your family in? or us?" Kenzie shook her head "either way it is not a decision that I am prepared to make tonight" 

"That's fair..."  Rommie says...before continuing..."And you are right...you don't have to make a life altering decision tonight...or even tomorrow...but a few things to consider...We are sisters...twins...and I also want to get to know you...two...Mom and Dad will never put you into a situation where you would be in huge danger...they want to protect you...just like they do me...third...that threat was made against us when we were infants...helpless and vulnerable...We are not helpless infants anymore...we are full grown witches with command over our magic...4th...We know someone was trying to kill us...forewarned is fore armed...I want to know who is after us and put a stop to it so we don't have to live in fear for the rest of our lives..."

"Thanks Rommie" Kenzie said then yawned, the day catching up to her

Rommie gives her a light smile..."Good night Kenzie..."  She gathers up the tray and empty cups...heading out of the bedroom...shutting the door behind her...
